WIRE ROPE SLINGS

With in-house swaging capabilities for wire rope up to 30mm diameter, LMS can manufacture bespoke wire rope assemblies from our extensive stock held in Coatbridge.

CHAIN SLINGS

Holding a wide range of chain in stock, including 7mm, 8mm, 10mm and 13mm sizes, LMS can supply Grade 8 chain slings on a same-day basis, with Grade 10 assemblies available the next day. All chain slings are manufactured to order, ensuring they are tailored to your specific load and application requirements.

COMMON QUESTIONS

How often does lifting equipment need to be inspected?

Under LOLER 1998, lifting accessories such as slings must be thoroughly examined at least every 6 months. Lifting equipment used to lift people must be examined every 6 months; other lifting equipment at least every 12 months, or in accordance with an examination scheme.

Can you inspect equipment on our site?

Yes — we offer both workshop-based and on-site inspection services. For large installations or equipment that cannot easily be transported, our engineers can travel to your premises.

What happens if equipment fails the inspection?

Any items that are defective or unsafe are clearly reported. We can advise on repair, replacement or retirement of equipment, and can supply tested replacements from stock.

Do you issue examination reports the same day?

In most cases, yes. For workshop inspections and standard test bed work, we aim to issue reports on the day. We’ll always confirm turnaround time when you book.
